Getting started with Patient Access

To use Patient Access to book appointments you need to register yourself first at patient-access.co.uk

There are two ways to register:

    Register Now!

    Register now online and book an appointment.
    Confirm registration at appointment.

    You can register immediately at patient-access.co.uk by entering your postcode, selecting your practice and setting up a password.

    Make a note of the user ID that’s generated for you, as you’ll use this to sign in to Patient Access from now on.

    You will be able to book your first appointment online but you will be asked to show a form of photo ID when you turn up for that appointment in order to complete your registration and continue to use Patient Access.

    Registration Letter

    Request a registration letter from your practice.
    Enter your registration details online.

    Ask your practice receptionist for a Patient Access registration letter. You will need to show a form of photo ID and in return you will receive a letter with unique codes to get you up and running.

    Go to patient-access.co.uk and complete the details using the information from the registration letter. Enter your personal details and create a password.

    Make a note of the user ID that’s generated for you, as you’ll use this to sign in to Patient Access from now on.

Security & your medical record

All information that is sent to your surgery via Patient Access is secure. Your personal details are encrypted and protected using the highest standard internet security, so it cannot be intercepted.

Only you and your GP practice can see your information unless you choose to temporarily share your record with family and friends or healthcare professionals giving you the opportunity to:

  • Keep family and friends informed.
  • Share medication and allergy histories with a nursing home.
  • Get the most efficient care in an emergency.
